I started Bearing Hope in September 2020 after relapsing from osteosarcoma.
I spent almost 300 days at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Columbus, Ohio, receiving MAP chemotherapy, Limb Salvage Surgery, Physical Therapy, and trying to make the best out of the worst situation.
The mission of Bearing Hope is to bring joy, hope and support to kids fighting cancer in Ohio and to raise awareness for Childhood Cancer. My hope is that every blanket, stuffed animal, and every note of encouragement helps kids and teens feel stronger and more hopeful. Bearing Hope is a nonprofit 501c3 organization focused on supporting fighters and their families.
Just a kid Bearing Hope to kids fighting cancer.
Bearing Hope donates 20 holiday or seasonal HOPE BAGS every other month for Nationwide Children’s Hospital 12th Floor fighters and families. Bearing Hope Bags include themed comfort items such as: blankets, games, fidgets, letters, and always something to snuggle with to bring comfort.
I started Bearing Hope because I wanted to bring joy and hope to other kids fighting cancer.
I wanted to donate some of my most favorite things that were comforting and entertaining for long hospital stays.
Every kids fighting caner deserves something to make them smile. I hope by sending Bearing Hope blankets for those recently diagnosed, and monthly Hope Bags, I am able to bring smiles.
