Bearing Hope 2 U Is a nonprofit organization with the mission to provide hope and support to children and their families diagnosed with Childhood Cancer. Bearing Hope provides iHOPE BAGS DIRECTLY to patients at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, on the 12th floor, Hematology, Oncology, and Bone Marrow Transplant.

Our goal is to donate similar items that were Alea’s favorite that brought happiness , comfort, and entertainment for long hospital stays and something to look forward to after treatments and procedures.
Every kids fighting caner deserves something to Bear Hope, and a smile.

🎗️On September 21, 2020 Bearing Hope hosted its first porch fundraiser to raise awareness about Childhood Cancer. The founder, Alea Ramsey, had a passion to serve and support others after her own diagnosis of osteosarcoma In 2018.
Trying to make the best out of the worst situation, Alea saw a need while she was inpatient at Nationwide C

Trying to make the best out of the worst situation, Alea saw a need while she was inpatient at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Columbus, Ohio for close to 300 days. During that time, Alea became aware of the outdated treatments and the limited funding for research for Childhood Cancer. Alea’s voice for advocacy and awareness became fierce.
Most importantly, Alea realized the lonliness and isolation cancer caused for kids. One day she had her 13th birthday party, and four days later her entire world got turned upside down. She was determined to make staying in the hospital a little better by
BEARING HOPE.
Alea hoped that every blanket, stuffed animal, note of encouragement, games, trinkets, and boredom busters would help children diagnosed with cancer, HOPE.

Bearing Hope is a nonprofit (501C3 organization) based in Columbus, Ohio
- The mission of Bearing Hope is to provide support and advocacy to fighters and families with Childhood Cancer
- Bearing Hope currently provides care packages and resources to Childhood Cancer patients at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.
- Bearing Hope hopes to grow and to support children throughout Ohio and beyond.
- Bearing Hope welcomes newly diagnosed patients by letting them know they are NOT alone. Families can request a Bearing Hope “WORDS OF A WARRIOR” blanket and letter of support .
- As treatment begins and continues for each child at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Bearing Hope provides HOPE BAGS filled with season treats, games, activities, letters, books, stuffed animal, blankets, etc. to help bust the boredom of the hospital. Bearing Bags are delivered every other month..
- Bearing Hope works to bring Childhood Cancer Awareness to others in the community and beyond, with the hope of more than 4% of funding for research directed to childhood cancers .

Spotlight on the Founder of Bearing Hope 2 U:
Alea Ramsey, Founder
- Alea was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in 2018. She had just turned 13.
- After almost 300 days inpatient for numerous surgeries, chemotherapy, and related treatments, Alea decided to dedicate her time and energy to Childhood Cancer Advocacy & Support.
- Alea was a ten time cancer survivor who loved poetry, writing, snowboarding and of course, BEARING HOPE..
- Alea passed away in January 2024 but her wish for Bearing Hope to continue and for her not to be forgotten will be her legacy allowing her to shine and be remembered. We will always say her name.
- Alea wanted all inclusive for Bearing Hope. She included toddles to teens and adults, to join as a community and make a difference.
